Insolvency Services
Services for Insolvency Practitioners
Insolvencies throw up many complex aspects for IPs to manage. L&R provides a comprehensive insolvency recovery service to manage the archiving process from start to finish.
Streamlined Storage Process
As an Insolvency Practitioner it is important that you are confident in how sensitive information is handled. We have the knowledge and resources to help practitioners and case managers in complying with SIP Regulations for the recovery, processing and storage of books and records when taking instructions on cases. Upon receiving instruction, we make arrangements directly to organise the uplift and cataloguing of records for each case. Documents are collated and uplifted directly from site, with key data identified and recovered by our trained team.
Experts at Document Storage and Retrieval
Once the case records have been uplifted and placed into one of our facilities, a thorough inventory is created providing a detailed catalogue of the documents retrieved. As and when you require specific documents or files, L&R will identify, locate and deliver them directly to you. Case files and working papers can also be archived ensuring that you have direct access to your files at all times, without added space being taken up in your office.
Helping You to Remain Compliant with Security Regulations
Once a case has reached its closure, your files will be assigned a retention period specific to each document stored. This will ensure records are stored for no longer than is necessary and ensures you remain compliant with the Data Protection Act. L&R can also manage the process of closed case invoicing after the final meeting. Once retention dates have passed, we will be in contact to receive signed authorisation for the secure destruction of the case records, allowing the files to be securely shredded and a certificate of destruction issued.

Frequently Asked Questions
We offer a wide range of recovery, processing and storage services for almost any type of physical media such as books, records, archives, hard drives, discs and tapes.
Physical documents are stored at one of our secure storage facilities in Cheshire, Leicestershire, the West Midlands or Scotland. We ensure no one will have access to the records collected unless prior written approval is received from the Insolvency Practitioner, confirming the names of all individuals intending to visit. Once we have this, we will make arrangements to offer secure on-site visits, in data-restricted viewing areas.
We offer an analysis service that can provide you with invaluable details from the data. This can be arranged on a case-by-case basis depending on your requirements, providing you with a full report of the data collected.
After a case has been processed, there may be unnecessary or non-compliant bulk data contained within your files. These documents can be safely destroyed in line with the requirements of your case and/or the relevant regulation. As a case is approaching its closure, the case files and working papers can be invoiced pre-closure with the required retention periods applied, ensuring you always remain compliant and only store the documents you need, for the timescale required.
