Secure Document Storage — Not Just for Firms…

Traditionally, our work at L&R Storage has centred around supporting legal professionals with the secure storage of client documents — wills, deeds, and powers of attorney, to name a few. It’s something we take immense pride in doing, with the same care and confidentiality as if the records were our own.

But over recent months, we’ve had a growing number of individuals reach out to us directly, often because they’ve moved on from their solicitor, are unsure where their original documents are held, or simply want the peace of mind that comes with dedicated, fire-safe off-site storage.

And here’s the thing: there’s no reason they shouldn’t have access to that same level of security.

So, can we store legal documents directly for individuals?

Yes, and increasingly, we do.

While our core focus remains on supporting legal professionals, we’ve also seen increasing demand from individuals who are looking for a safe, professional home for their important documents. As long as we’re not offering legal advice (which we don’t), we’re able to store documents like wills and deeds with the same high standards we apply for our solicitor partners.

That said, we’re very mindful of the solicitor-client relationship and we always make it clear that we do not and cannot replace the role of a solicitor. Where appropriate, we’ll even encourage individuals to speak with their legal advisor before making a decision.

Working in Partnership with the Legal Profession

Our relationships with legal professionals remain at the heart of what we do. From long-term storage of wills and deeds to scan-on-demand retrieval, we’re here to provide a seamless, secure extension of your service.

We also offer large format scanning for property deeds, boundary plans and drawings, making it easy to digitise and share documents that don’t fit neatly into a standard filing cabinet.

For those individuals who come to us directly, our role is simple: to safeguard their documents with the same care, professionalism and discretion we offer our solicitor partners — never to replace legal advice or expertise.
